Real Madrid negotiated a tricky tie at the Mestalla with ease as they put three past Valencia to come out on top. The whites would be feeling much better with this win as its the first time they had beaten a good team this season.

Manchester United - Valencia goals
Manchester United played their final pre season game before they kick off their season against Chelsea in the community shield. The Red Devils took on Spanish giants Valencia at Old Trafford. The match saw the first appearance for Michael Owen at Old Trafford but it was Rooney who gave the English champions the lead in the second half. Owen had several glorious chances but failed to convert any of them. Cleverly then doubled the lead and it was new boy Antonio Valencia who provided the assists on both the occasions.
