Barcelona vs Real Copa Del Ray
It is arguably the most eagerly anticipated fixture of the season as Real Madrid take on Barcelona in El Classico, and us football fans have been treated to a bonus edition of the fixture as the two Spanish giants meet each other in the Copa Del Ray tonight, with the game being a favourite with victor chandler free bets.
Although Barcelona finished the year as World and European champions, as well as winning Real in the league in December, they have struggled to match their usually high standards and have fallen 5 points behind Madrid in the league as bwin makes Jose Mourhinos men favourites to win the La Liga title.
After dropping points against Espanyol last week, Barcalona were troubled by Betis this weekend, which saw Pep Guardiola display his anger towards his teams performance.
As Barca lost a two goal lead at the weekend to be pulled back to 2-2. Guardiola was seen admonishing Xavi. A reaction that was down to Peps frustration at his players failing to stick to their principles of passing forward and sideways rather than being content to pass backwards and making wrong decisions as a team. Messi and co did eventually win the game 4-2 but the stumbling performance could be put down to the team being both physically and mentally tired after a gruelling few years of being at the very peak of World football week in week out.
You could say then, that this is a great time for Madrid and Jose Mourinho's men to get one over on their rivals who have dominated them in the past couple of years.
But while everybody thought that Mourinho would record his first victory over Barca as Real manager in December, Barca dominated the game and proved that Real were still some way off from having the ability and knowledge to win.
Barcelona will no doubt once again raise their game for this key clash, as they will be looking for revenge from the Copa Del Ray loss last season, as Ronaldo's extra time header won the cup for the galactico's.
It will certainly be a fantastic game in the the first leg at the Bernebuea tonight.
