Manchester City have given themselves a lifeline this week by reducing their deficit on United at the top to just five points. Despite Mancini playing down the fact that they are still in with a chance of catching United, the matter of the fact is that they do have a chance. That chance will only be there however if they can turn around their poor away form that saw them lose the lead to United in the first place. Mancini needs to start sending his teams out away from home to win matches, and now with the pressure off, I’m pretty sure he will do this and the players will perform better.
They were hugely disappointing last week at Arsenal. It was a must win game for them and they were playing out for the draw. Sitting back, attracting pressure and lack lustre going forward. In fact I wouldn’t be surprised if they had a single shot!
For a team that has spent so much money, they should be doing better against an Arsenal team who barely spent a penny last summer. They bounced back with a 4-0 win at West Brom, which was better, and they will have to repeat the same performance at Norwich this weekend; something that soccer betting tips suggest they may fail to replicate. It will be a difficult game, but once again they have too much quality in the squad to lose a game like this. It is just out of the question.
Manchester United have got two tricky home ties to Villa and Everton in the next week and should City make sure they win their games, the derby at the Etihad stadium might just be a defining point in the season after all and the Premier League title race will be well and truly back on in a thriller those looking to bet on soccer games will relish!
